AlnoStar Dur furniture in two colours with a matching laminate worktop proving that laminate is back, re-invented and on trend. There is also a concealed entrance to a shelved out pantry in the tall bank of units making the most of a difficult space and utilising all the space without compromising the design and finished look Mr and Mrs James wanted.
We discovered Ashley Jay quite by chance, by randomly visiting their showroom after becoming exasperated by weeks of visits to all the national kitchen suppliers whose main interest it seemed was designing and fitting a kitchen which was easiest for them and not at all what we wanted. We wanted a modern room with features that suited us – a light and airy kitchen which enticed the garden into the house; a room with no hard lines or edges (hence no door handles or obvious sockets); a floor to ceiling wall of cabinets with hidden depths behind; a walk-in pantry you can’t buy off the shelf; a central island which gels the kitchen into an open plan dining room, coloured glass to make a splash and concealed lighting to add a WOW factor.
Paul, Ashley and Trevor designed, supplied and fitted exactly what we wanted, with no hard sell. Their attention to detail was exactly what you would expect from a company whose foundations lie in the professionalism and expertise of master craftsmen. What did surprise us was the extremely high level of customer service maintained throughout the project. If they couldn’t provide us with what we wanted direct from the supplier, they bought the panels and crafted units themselves (hence the bespoke pantry) so that everything fitted to the millimetre. When our window suppliers caused delays, Ashley Jay rearranged their diary accordingly – uncomplainingly although this must have caused them problems when it happened several times.
In short they gave us exactly what we wanted, along with the confidence from Day One that we had chosen the right company.
