Warm tones of concrete give depth and an inviting texture to this grey kitchen. Utilising a thick patterned Corian worktop, concrete floor and concrete-look doors paired with a gloss light grey the client built a soft tonal palette than enabled them to create a sense of calm and openness.
To make the most of the large room which has various architectural doorways, we worked with the client to design a zonal arrangement. A generous island with seamless Corian table section sits as the central cooking and eating area, with a Bora hob framed by stainless steel hot rods to protect the Corian tops. Alongside the island sits a wet area for the sink, prep and dishwashing, whilst two tall cabinetry stacks house respectively: cooking and cooling. This cooling area was of prime importance to the overall design; a keen wine enthusiast, ample high-quality wine storage was a crucial to our client’s brief. Two matching Fisher & Paykel wine conditioning units frame a large central Fisher & Paykel fridge freezer. All cold storage the client could need, surrounded by concrete cabinetry in a beautiful wall of symmetry.
