For Matt & Katie’s kitchen we created an open design which knocked four rooms in to one flowing area, to create a cooking and entertaining hub proportional to this beautiful Sussex country home. The clients wanted to take advantage of their expansive rear garden views and so we designed the living and dining areas by large-bi-fold doors at the rear, with the main kitchen and office areas running across the front and side of the property.
Curved units create a separation between the main room and the office side room, whilst helping with the flow between the two spaces.
The marriage of functionality and aesthetics was key to the brief; utilising storage, island workspace, high-end appliances and bespoke details such as the made-to-measure TV unit with bi-folding doors.
The flexibility of our bespoke cabinetry was employed to create unique storage around the client’s large fridge and wine conditioning unit, which dovetailed perfectly around the room’s architectural beams. Alongside these units sits the specialist oak dining table. Adjoining the island this distinctive piece of furniture is made from wide-stave solid oak; natural ‘shakes’ in the wood are filled with resin to create an eye catching focal point to the room, as it transitions from kitchen to living spaces
This kitchen features: Mercury range cooker, Wolf extraction, Siemens fridge and wine conditioning units, Quooker tap, Sensa granite and Silestone worktops, bespoke in-frame hand-painted Shaker cabinetry and resin-filled solid oak table.
