This local Sussex kitchen creates a contemporary twist on classic Shaker cabinetry. Textures and colours were important to these clients who wanted to balance industrial, rustic and clean modern design elements; creating a warm, inviting family space. The island was colour matched to a bespoke vibrant plum colour, which was echoed in the client’s artwork and complemented by other furniture in the room.
The kitchen includes Neff appliances, a black Elica extractor and black sink and tap; a laminate worktop and lacquered Shaker cabinetry.
“As anyone who has chosen a kitchen will know, it’s a minefield out there! The fog was cleared from the moment I walked into Ashley Jay. Initially Sarah organised to come to see our space and take a detailed questionnaire about our wishes, likes and dislikes. I felt that this personal service was so important as it made me feel that Ashley Jay were genuinely going to design a kitchen that best fitted the spaces and worked with our lifestyle. They were able to show us our developing designs clearly on the computer and led us professionally through the whole process with calm meetings and Sarah ever-focused on what matched our tastes and aspirations which ensured we fulfilled our dreams. Sarah liaised with our builders to ensure that everything was prepared correctly and took all the stress out of the implementation of the kitchen. Sarah’s experience and knowledge in all areas of the design, from where the boiler should go to the type of tap gave us full confidence that we had made the right choice choosing Ashley Jay.”
